They didn't. The playbook is still being written, and that's work for judgment. You have decades of it.

The mission

Why AI Over 50 exists

AI Over 50 started because I kept meeting sharp, experienced people who felt left behind. They weren't.

AI doesn't replace experience. It multiplies it.

You have judgment, domain knowledge, and real-world context that no AI tool has. I know you can learn to use AI -- I did. The goal is to learn how to use it in a way that multiplies what you already know.

That's what this is all about.

My approach

Three beliefs

Everything I teach comes back to three beliefs I developed working with these tools:

  • Be the AI skeptic who uses AI. Stay wary of the technology and get proficient enough to question it firsthand. The person who uses AI and still asks the hard questions is who we should all be right now.
  • Bet on your foundation. Learn the fundamentals that do not change with every new model release, and look past the noise to the systems underneath.
  • Your experience is the edge. Decades of work and change gave you judgment, pattern recognition, and the instinct to push back. That is the one thing AI cannot supply on its own and it is exactly what makes it work well.

Who I am

Brett Bouchard

I'm Brett Bouchard. I've spent over 20 years in tech -- across early-stage startups and big tech, including 9 years as a Director at Google leading product marketing for a platform used by 2.5 billion people.

Today, I deploy AI systems for businesses and advise leaders on AI strategy. I've also built practical AI tools for my own work -- so when I say this is learnable and practical, I'm speaking from having done it.

You don't need to become an AI expert. You need to be an expert who uses AI.
